In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus called us to be the light of the world (v. 14).

He also said when a candle is lit, its purpose isn’t to be hidden but to be put on a candlestick so that its light is seen by everyone (v. 15).

Candles shine brightest in the darkness; in the dark climate of our world right now, we have the amazing opportunity to shine brightly for God and Country.

Candles shine brighter collectively by lighting another candle; if Jesus is Lord spiritually and Country is first politically, we have unity together that cannot be broken by the slings and arrows of the enemy.

The world preaches a false unity with evildoers for the sake of “tolerance,” but Jesus taught a true unity among those who are in Him. Never compromise the truth for worldly unity; instead, stand united with fellow brothers and sisters on the battlefield.

If we miss the purpose to which God has called us, we risk the chance of fighting fellow soldiers by shining the light we've been called to share in each other’s eyes, and the world could miss seeing Jesus.

Among brothers and sisters, unity is vital. Instead of fighting over things that are unknown (timelines, events, etc.), we need to stand united through what is known (Jesus, the enemy, etc.).

Knowing the enemy and who to fight against is important; knowing fellow soldiers and who to fight with is also important.

There are many million candles across America and the world; together, and in Christ, the enemy doesn't stand a chance.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16)
