I often urge you to pray for discernment (as well as for knowledge and wisdom among many other things).
We all have our unique way of praying to Jesus Christ. I usually try to simply have a private conservations with Him in plain, everyday language. I tell Him what is going on in my life for which I seek His guidance and direction.
God knows the future so He knows my prayers before I pray them. He has already answered my prayers before I ask for Him to help me.
Below are some examples of prayers some use to pray for some discernment.
My advice: Just talk to Jesus as your best Friend. He is. And He knows everything and knows it before it happens
