Gifts to The Mailman

The Dal
Imagine that you sent this really costly gift through the mail to a loved one. A week later you get a letter back thanking you for the beautiful gift, signed, the mailman. The thank you from the mailman would mean the gift never got to the one you sent it to. In the same way, every good work you do is to be for God, a gift to God. If you do things to get someone to thank you, what are you doing? You're giving gifts to the mailman. It's not getting to where it's supposed to go. All the good you ever do, all the love you ever show, is to be a gift to God. You do it to people, but it goes to God. If you start expecting thank you notes from people, you're not really addressing your gift or your good works rightly to God. Stop sending your gifts to the mailman. Stop expecting people to thank you, recognize, or praise your good works. Start getting your good works in to Heaven. That is, do it for God alone, His thank you alone, His eyes only, and not for the mailman.
Today's Mission
Today seek to get nothing from others, no thank you ,no recognition, but live this day completely to bless God and bless others.
When you do something for someone else, don’t call attention to yourself. You’ve seen them in action, I’m sure—‘playactors’ I call them—treating prayer meeting and street corner alike as a stage, acting compassionate as long as someone is watching, playing to the crowds. They get applause, true, but that’s all they get. When you help someone out, don’t think about how it looks. Just do it—quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God, who conceived you in love, working behind the scenes, helps you out.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY AND WEEKEND.
The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws that regulate an establishment of religion, or that prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.
