The First Step
You can't climb a ladder with a missing first rung. No matter how high the ladder is, you won't go higher. In our lives there's often something missing that can make or break our walk. The difference between success or failure, may be just one rung. That one thing you need to do. The first step that gets things started. There're so many things that could and would happen in your life. But a victorious walk will never happen without you taking that first step. The ladder that reaches up to heaven can't go there without that first rung. The first step seems the hardest, but when you take it, you're on your way. God's calling you to take that action, that repentance, that new beginning, that step of faith, that step of holiness, courage, restoration, forgiveness, healing, your ministry, your calling and your victory. It's waiting. You don't have to do it all at once. Just take the first little step today. Begin ascending on the heights by putting your foot on the first rung of the ladder.

Today's Mission
Ask the Lord to show where you need to take a first step to accomplish His will in your life, then do what He shows you. Take that step today.

Deuteronomy 6:18
18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers.
Deeply respect God, your God. Serve and worship him exclusively. Back up your promises with his name only. Don’t fool around with other gods, the gods of your neighbors, because God, your God, who is alive among you is a jealous God. Don’t provoke him, igniting his hot anger that would burn you right off the face of the Earth. Don’t push God, your God, to the wall as you did that day at Massah, the Testing-Place. Carefully keep the commands of God, your God, all the requirements and regulations he gave you. Do what is right; do what is good in God’s sight so you’ll live a good life and be able to march in and take this pleasant land that God so solemnly promised through your ancestors, throwing out your enemies left and right—exactly as God said.
