The Sound of the Bridegroom
In the ancient Hebrew marriage, the bride and groom would stay separated for a year. The groom would prepare a place for the bride and the bride would prepare herself for the groom, making herself beautiful. Anyone who's witness a woman getting beautiful knows - it often gets worse before it gets better. And if you're born again, you are the bride and this life is your preparation time. This is the time given for you to become beautiful in His eyes. But becoming beautiful involves a process that isn't overnight. And often, before you become more beautiful, you appear less so, or even ugly, especially in the mirror of our own eyes. So if you're examining yourself, your heart, attitude, and spirituality, it can be pretty ugly. But don't be discouraged. It's all part of the process. In fact, it's seeing your faults that allows you to become beautiful. This is the time of your preparation. You don't have to be beautiful, you only have to become beautiful.

Today's Mission
Today, take steps toward not looking more beautiful, but becoming more beautiful in God.

1 Timothy 4:8
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
You’ve been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus there, and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus. Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers.
